In the quiet of the snow,
My tank of a car creeps forward.
I consider turning left to go home;
But instead, I decide to continue onward.
Some people drive carefully,
Some follow too closely behind.
Scrambling for last minute necessities;
Toilet paper, batteries, milk- whatever they can find.
I stop at the store for a while.
Stomach growling, mouth yawning,
I wander about the aisles;
I know what I want and I want everything.
When I finally check out,
I am shocked at what I find:
Several inches of snow have fallen on the ground
My shopping cart gets stuck;
The snow is still coming down.
This is just my luck!
Then fate shows me favor, when a kind elderly man
Helps me out of this silly mess.
I struggle, clumsily towards my car.
My vision blurred, white and wet.
How dumb of me, to take so long inside the store!
I wish I wasn't alone.
As soon as I brush the snow off,
The windshield is covered again.
This might be harder than I thought.
How could I know,
My trouble had just begun?
That a 15 minute drive home,
Would turn into six more hours alone?

In case the world ends,
I want to tell you something;
I think I love you.
(December 15, 2012)
You're a lot like me;
You will keep doing your thing,
And hope she leaves you.
(December 11, 2012)
Had there ever been
A man who truly loved me,
He would be here now.

The most dangerous:
The worst critic is myself,
My one, all-knowing.
(July 24, 2012)
I wanted to be
Close to you but I was too
Scared to hear your truth.
(July 24, 2012)
I warned you, but I
Couldn't say why I needed
To be listened to.

It's two forty five
The same time ev'ry morning
When I think of you.
(July 24, 2011)
I loved you down there,
And let you barter with me
For the thrill of it.
(November 18, 2011)
The humming highway
And murmurings of morning
Pierce my cold window.
(November 6, 2011)
Walking in circles,
While everyone floats downstream;
I keep looking back.

That girl in dresses,
Dancing, puppet shows and songs;
That is who I am.
(June 20, 2011)
Though your claws are sharp
And you are high maintenance,
I love you so much.

To see a rainbow,
The child of Sunshine and Rain,
Is a special gift.
(June 18, 2011)
My young summer love;
Dewdrop kisses in the grass,
Crickets singing lust.
(June 18, 2011)
We stand by the creek,
Flirting and diverting eyes,
Sighing sweet sorrow.
(June 8, 2011)
Looking at the stars,
I see your hand in my hair
And your tender eyes.
(June 7, 2011)
Orange, yellow, crimson shade
Buildings are swaying;
The children are scared.
Blue and gray, a winter's haze
The Earth is heaving;
Towns drowning in waves.
Green, oh green where can you be?
A plant is melting into the sea.
